A Probabilistic Approach to Model SIC Based RACH Mechanism for Machine Type Communications in Cellular Networks

In a cellular Internet of Things, burst transmissions from millions machine type communications (MTC) devices can result in channel congestion. The main bottleneck such scenario is inefficient random access (RACH) mechanism that used to attach MTC base station (BS). To address this issue congestion RACH mechanism, 3GPP has proposed an extended barring (3GPP-EAB) mechanism. However, several works indicate the performance 3GPP-EAB be further improved. work, successive interference cancellation (SIC) based considered significantly increase success rate and reduce are allowed transmit repeatedly for finite number times given cycle, thereafter, improved by applying back-and-forth SIC at BS. A novel probabilistic approach presented with all transition steady-state probabilities. Further, probability slot derived. Through extensive numerical results, it shown outperforms existing ones terms rate. Moreover, obtain maximum rate, optimum entered cycle also calculated.
